About the CEO

Meet John Vargas, the founder and visionary CEO of OverWatch Protection Agency.

With over 40 years of combined experience in law enforcement, security, and asset protection, John embodies the trusted security professional, offering unparalleled executive protection, corporate security services, and specialized VIP protection.

Marine Corps Experience

John began his journey in 1977 with the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served with honor and earned the rank of Corporal. He was a rifle sharpshooter, a heavy vehicle operator, and the personal driver for a Base Colonel. He was honorably discharged in 1980.

Law Enforcement & Security Training

In 1982, John began a 14-year law enforcement career across Northern California, working in Patrol, Vice, Undercover, Gang, and Field Training Units. He also instructed arrest control and tactical baton techniques before retiring as a Lieutenant. He’s certified in pursuit and defensive driving.

Executive Protection Specialist

Since 1987, John has served as an Executive Protection Specialist across Northern California and the Bay Area, leading security operations in hospitality, corporate, and talent/executive protection. He holds certifications from LaSorsa & Associates and R.L. Oatman & Associates.

Credentials

He holds Concealed Carry Permits valid in 39 states including CA, NV, AZ, UT, and FL. He also has a Class A California Driver’s License and a current U.S. Passport.
